Katie Taylor eyes ‘perfect end’ to legendary career as she lands Croke Park fight
Madison Square Garden reacts as Katie Taylor ekes out trilogy victory over Amanda Serrano
Katie Taylor is scheduled to fight undefeated Flora Pili at Croke Park in Dublin on 5 September, in what is widely expected to be the final bout of her professional boxing career.
The fight fulfils Taylor’s long-standing ambition to compete at the iconic Irish stadium, a goal her promoter Eddie Hearn has worked hard to achieve.
Taylor, a 39-year-old Olympic gold medallist, expressed that fighting at Croke Park to potentially regain her undisputed title feels like the “perfect way to end” her career, thanking her fans for their unwavering support.
This upcoming contest will be only Taylor’s third professional fight on home soil, following two previous encounters in 2023 against Chantelle Cameron, where Taylor avenged her only professional loss to become undisputed super-lightweight champion.
Taylor will be defending her unified super-lightweight belts and competing for the vacant WBC title against Pili, aiming to solidify her undisputed status in the division.
