A suspected sea drone has exploded at Romania’s largest port on the Black Sea coast, triggering a major evacuation. The blast happened at Constanta port at around 10.30am EEST (8.30am UK time).

The surrounding area has been cordoned off by authorities as a massive plume of smoke rose into the sky. The incident comes after a Russian drone struck a Romanian apartment block late last month.

The attack in Galați town provoked international condemnation, with Sir Keir Starmer describing the incident as a “serious violation of NATO airspace”.
