A much-loved game show that fans have said is the “greatest ever” is reportedly set to return.

Bullseye will apparently be back for a full series on ITV, after recently airing a special charity edition for Soccer Aid that was hosted by Freddie Flintoff.

According to TVZone, filming on the programme is due to take place in September, with a new crop of contestants set to rely on their darts skills to win prizes.

The new series will “also see professional darts players taking to the oche to help along the contestants and the return of Master of Ceremonies Richard Ashdown”.

Bullseye was a massive hit during the 1980s and 1990s when it was hosted by the late Jim Bowen. It returned for a festive special in 2024 and then came back for a complete series in 2025, with Freddie taking the reins.

The show has remained hugely popular with fans, who have called it “brilliant”, “iconic” and the “best game show ever”.

“There is no television programme that has ever been made in the entire history of the medium that could ever objectively compare to Bullseye,” one viewer posted on social media, as somebody else said it was “the greatest British game show” to ever be on TV.

Fans were thrilled when it returned for Soccer Aid, with Olly Murs among the celebs taking part, with several posting messages online asking whether it would be back for a full run.

One wrote on IMDb.com: “In this day and age where game shows come and go, the classics remain in the memory, and are still loved today, who didn’t love Jim Bowen’s Bullseye, who didn’t love to see someone from Milton Keynes winning a speedboat?” They added that Freddie was “a cracking host” of the reboot. “He brought energy and exuberance, he’s full of charisma,” they said.

“Bullseye was super smashing great,” one person posted on Instagram, as someone else penned: “Hopefully Bullseye gets a new series.”

“I want Bullseye to come back for a new series,” agreed another fan of the game show.

“Are you making a second series???” asked another viewer. “I hope it comes back for a longer run than just four episodes because you can’t beat a bit of Bully on a Sunday.” ITV has been contacted for comment.
