You didn’t need to be a genius to work out that youngsters involved in St Andrew’s High’s annual maths challenge had a great time – and impressed staff and their peers.
The Coatbridge secondary school welcomed pupils from its associated primaries St Monica’s, St Bernard’s, St Timothy’s, St Mary’s, Our Lady and St Joseph’s, Corpus Christi and St Stephen’s.
The winning team were St Monica’s Primary, represented by calculating queens and king Nyla Hogg, Olivia Bodie, Cassie Lochran and Anton Reilly.
Corpus Christi Primary’s Jude Reilly, Finn McIlduff, Holly Blades and Lucy Smith finished as runners-up.
A St Andrew’s High School spokesman said: “Although the event ran close initially, the winners had an excellent Relay Round which saw them overtake both St Stephen’s – who had an excellent ramp building round – and Corpus Christi.
“The event was hosted by Mrs Watt and Miss Valente from our maths department and we’d like to thank them for all of their hard work.
“We’d also like to thank all of the pupils who took part – every one of them was a credit to themselves and their schools.”
