A man has died and a woman is in a critical condition after a serious crash on the M4 near Heathrow Airport.
Emergency services rushed to the scene between Junctions 3 and 4B near Heathrow Airport following reports of a ‘serious collision’ in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police said a 63-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after his white VW Golf was involved in the crash, while a woman, aged 62, was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition. A 29-year-old man was also taken to hospital, where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Police were searching for a man driving a black BMW 320i that was also involved in the crash.

Detective Inspector John Millward, who leads the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing, said in a statement: “Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the people involved.
“Our specialist detectives are now working at pace to identify the establish the exact circumstances of the incident and locate the driver of the second car.
“He is described as an Asian man of heavy build, wearing dark clothing and carrying a black rucksack.
“We urge anyone with information to urgently contact the police – particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”

“The Met is investigating after a man died in a collision on the M4 at Hillingdon.
“Police were called at 23.37hrs on Monday, 1 June to reports of a serious collision between two cars on the M4 near Junction 4.
“The occupants of one car, a white VW Golf, were treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.
“Sadly, a 63-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.
“A woman, aged 62, was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition. A 29-year-old man was also taken to hospital where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“It is understood that the second car, a black BMW 320i, had been pursued by officers from Thames Valley Police prior to the collision on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. They were not in pursuit at the time of the collision.
“The occupant, a man, made off from the scene on foot. Officers are now working to track him down as the investigation continues.”

Police are currently hunting for the owner of a black BMW 320i who was being pursued by officers from Thames Valley Police prior to the collision this morning.
The suspect is believed to have been wanted by officers on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, and made off from the scene of the crime on foot following the collision.
Officers are seeking to track the suspect as the investigation continues.

Severe delays remain on the M4 between J1 and J3 near Heathrow Airport following a “serious collision” this morning.
Contractors remain at the scene and are dealing with spillage and clean up work, National Highways have reported.
Delays of around 120 minutes are expected, with approximately 6 miles of congestion on approach.

The M4 in Greater London is now closed westbound between J3 near (Feltham) and J4B near Heathrow Airport following a multi vehicle collision.
All emergency services including Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been in attendance.
National Highways Traffic Officers are in attendance to assist with traffic management.

- At J3 exit the M4 and take the 1st exit on to the A312 ‘The Parkway’.
- At ‘Waggoner’s roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A4 ‘Bath Road’.
- At the A408/Nene Road turn left and exit the A4.
- At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto ‘East Ramp’ the next roundabout is the Heathrow Tunnel roundabout.

M4 westbound traffic:
- At junction 3 exit the M4 and take the 3rd exit onto the A312 ‘The Parkway’.
- Continue following the A312 ‘The Parkway’ through three roundabouts for approx. 4.1 miles.
- At the fourth roundabout take the second exit and continue on the A312 ‘Church Road’.
- At the next roundabout take the 1st exit and join the A40 westbound.
- Continue on the A40 as it merges into the M40
- At J1A exit the M40 to access the M25 anti-clockwise J16 to J15.
- Follow the M25 anti-clockwise to J15 and exit at J15 to access J4B M4.
