100,000 visitors flock to see spectacular floral display

The University of Michigan’s W.E. Upjohn Peony Garden in Ann Arbor is currently hosting its annual floral display, attracting an anticipated 100,000 visitors.
The garden boasts one of North America’s largest collections of herbaceous peonies, featuring varieties dating back to pre-1950.
It showcases hundreds of cultivated types from the 19th and early 20th centuries, originating from America, Canada, and Europe.
At its peak, the garden displays tens of thousands of flowers, creating a captivating spectacle described as a “big show” by horticulture lead Doug Conley.
The garden is free to enter and open from sunrise to sunset, with early morning or late evening recommended for experiencing the peonies’ most potent fragrances.
