To pass the time before the song drops later this week, I put my “mastermind” hat on and did a deep dive for all the potential Tay Story Easter eggs she’s dropped that might give us some clues as to what the heck we have in store for us on Friday. Here are all the “invisible strings” I was able to piece together:

And, you guessed it, Jessie was part of the official countdown on Monday on Taylor’s site, seemingly hinting at the song either being about or from Jessie’s perspective.

5. In what appears to be the Little Golden Book version of Toy Story 5, which was released in early May, it’s revealed that Jessie’s original owner, Emily, had named her daughter after Jessie, and that “even though [Jessie’s] time with Emily had ended, she had meant more to her kid than she ever knew.” Not only does this line up a little too well with Taylor’s NYT interview bit, but — as a lifelong Swiftie — I feel confident in saying this feels very much like something she’d write about in the most heartbreaking way possible.
