John Oliver has criticised Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 concert series following numerous artist withdrawals.
Musicians including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, and the Commodores have pulled out, citing the event’s political nature.
The current lineup for the 16-day festival, part of Washington, D.C.’s Great American State Fair, now features acts like Vanilla Ice, C+C Music Factory, and Milli Vanilli.
Oliver joked that the remaining artists are those “you haven’t thought about since 2009”, highlighting the perceived decline in star power.
Donald Trump himself called for the series to be cancelled, suggesting he should perform instead, claiming he draws larger audiences than Elvis.
