Some Sky customers appear to be experiencing an irritating glitch affecting the popular ITVX app. The gremlins seem to have started late last week, with users complaining that their viewing has been interrupted by an issue that skips straight to the end of programmes at random times. It means some are halfway through a show and are then suddenly taken right to credits without touching the fast-forward button on the remote.
Posting on Sky’s forum page, one Sky user named Dazzasky said, ” ITV Player randomly skips ahead, usually right to the end of the episode and is making it quite difficult tbh,.. this has been happening for the last 4 or 5 days.”
Another Sky user, named Dawn added, “Is anyone else having issues watching programmes on ITVX for the last 3 days programmes? I’m watching then jumped to the end randomly and then showing as watched it usually happens at the beginning of the programme or straight after an ad break.”
The TV nightmares appear to be affecting those with Sky’s online devices, including Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. It’s unclear if Sky Q has also been hit, but the majority of gripes are coming from people with gadgets powered by broadband rather than a satellite dish.
There’s currently no word on what is causing the problems, but a Sky employee named Kev has now joined the online conversation with a message saying the company is aware of the issues and working on a fix.
“Hi Everyone,” Kev said in a post.
“Thank you for making us aware of this problem and thanks for tagging us.
“We can understand how frustrating this must be and have escalated the problem to our support teams. They will work with ITV to fix the issue. As soon as I have more information, I’ll update everyone.”

So, for now it seems users will simply have to put up with the skipping issues but hopefully a fix is on its way.
Mirror Online will update this article as soon as we hear more.
