With the recent heatwave, you’ve no doubt been planning to spend plenty of time outdoors in the sun. However, in true UK style, the weather is already proving to be unpredictable this summer, which means there’s always the risk of a downpour spoiling your plans.
If you’re determined to stay outside, it’s worth having a gazebo to hand ready to be popped up at a moment’s notice. Not only will it help shelter you from the rain but it’ll give you some extra shade from the sun, and Argos has just dropped the price on its Argos Home Garden Gazebo in a flash sale.

Usually priced at £30, the code GREEN20 will save you 20%, bringing it down to £24 which makes it affordable enough for a just-incase purchase. The gazebo packs it up into a small bundle that’s easy to store in garages, sheds or even in your car boot if you’re heading camping.
However the Garden Gazebo measures 250cm high, 240cm wide and 240cm deep when constructed, which is just the right size for covering up a seating area or table and chairs. It needs two people to assemble it, but it’s straightforward to put up and can be easily moved around your garden as it’s lightweight, weighing just 4kg.
It’s made with a simple steel frame that’s stable and supportive, and a weather resistant canopy that protects you from the weather. The Argos Home Garden Gazebo also comes with guy ropes and pegs which let you fix it into the grass for extra stability. It does, however, say to avoid using it in high winds.

The only downside to the Garden Gazebo is that it doesn’t have side panels, which means you won’t have much protection from truly heavy downpour or the wind. If you want something with some extra shelter, the Folding Pop Up Gazebo 3X3m from Wayfair is ideal.
It has three side panels – two of which have windows – which can be attached to any of the sides, and can be rolled up or down for customisable shelter. It has UV and rain protection, and it’s also currently on sale down from £92.99 to £79.99.
Alternatively this Pop Up Canopy is great if you want lots of fresh air and sunshine in, but don’t want to be plagued by insects while you’re trying to eat. It features four mesh curtain panels which stop wasps or flies hovering over you while you eat whilst still letting light and fresh air in, and it’s also on sale for just £93.99 down from £217.26.
But despite its affordable price tag, the Argos Home Garden Gazebo has been praised by shoppers. One said: “Bigger than I thought it takes 2 people to assemble very waterproof, it’s very wide suited for a big garden, sturdier than I thought also very light and poles are metal not bad for the price.”
Another wrote: “I am very happy with this, I bought it to sit over the children’s paddling pool to keep the sun off them it’s great.”

However some weren’t pleased with the stability of the Argos Home Garden Gazebo, saying: “I should have bought a better one, this won’t last long as soon as a bit of wind appears it will be gone. We had to practice putting it up first and it was quite easy, but faffy.”
Another agreed: “Rubbish not fit for purpose slight windfall broke apart bent and snapped returned for refund.”
But others loved the Argos Home Garden Gazebo saying: “Great value for money, very easy to put up and take down, very waterproof.”

And someone else praised: “Bought during the heatwave to keep the sun off the patio. Easy to assemble and reasonably sturdy, although I would suggest tying it down in case of high winds!”
