Trump demands impeachment for judge who blocked Kennedy Center changes
Kennedy Center Controversy
President Donald Trump demanded a federal judge face charges after the judge temporarily blocked his planned renovations and the addition of his name to the Kennedy Center.
U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper ruled that Congress establishes the Kennedy Center‘s name and cannot be unilaterally altered by its Board.
Trump accused Judge Cooper of a conflict of interest, alleging the judge’s wife’s “Radical Left Democrat” politics influenced the ruling and called for Cooper’s impeachment.
Trump described the Kennedy Center as dilapidated, “rusted, rotted, and rat and bug infested,” emphasizing the urgent need for the renovation project.
The Kennedy Center announced its intention to appeal the judge’s decision, reiterating the necessity for restoration and the $257 million secured for the project.
