Martin Odegaard insists he wants to stay at Arsenal for “many years” to come.

Gunners captain Odegaard has struggled for form and with injury this season which has raised doubts about his future as he has two years left on his contract this summer. But Odegaard insisted that in the wake of the Champions League final and Premier League title success that he wants to stay at the Emirates and enjoy more success.

He said: “There is nothing to say at the moment, I am under contract here and really happy here and hopefully I can stay many years.”

The Norway midfielder was substituted in the second half and admitted it was hard to watch the Champions League final and the way it played out.

He added: “Small margins decide a game like this. That is the reality of football and we have to deal with it.

“I thought we started the game really well, we got the first goal and after that I thought we defended really well. Obviously PSG had the ball a lot, didn’t really create anything and then a penalty of course they got their goal.

“After that I thought it was quite tight, we had some momentum, they had some momentum. Small margins, we did everything we could.

“It is tough to watch from the sides of course, small margins and you want to win it so bad and to end up with nothing is brutal.

“Again, that’s part of football and still we have done some incredible things this season and we get this close and we will come again next year

“Last year we got to the semis, this year to the final and it is just a shame we couldn’t win it so hopefully next year we can go one step further and go on and do it.”
