Sunday Brunch welcomed singer Freya Ridings on Sunday’s show.

Freya, 32, joined hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer on the Channel 4 programme, alongside fellow guests Boyzone, Priya Kansara, Michael Ball, Celyn Jones and Anna Dimitriadis.

Freya shot to fame back in 2017 with her heartfelt ballad Lost Without You, which stormed into the top ten on the UK Singles Chart. Her catalogue of hits also includes I Can’t Hear It Now, Castles, Ethereal and Blackout, amongst others.

In June 2023, Freya teamed up with her husband Ewan J Phillips to co-write the song Rise for the teen comedy film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, released by Universal Pictures.

Talent clearly runs in the family, as Freya has followed in the footsteps of her famous father, none other than acclaimed actor Richard Ridings. Richard, 67, is the beloved voice behind Daddy Pig in Peppa Pig, a role he has held since 2004.

Beyond his iconic Peppa Pig character, Richard has portrayed Alan Ashburn in the ITV drama Fat Friends, now available on Netflix, Mr. Lipa in the wartime drama The Pianist, Buck in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Bernard Green in Common as Muck and Mr. Bumble in Dickensian.

The seasoned actor has spoken warmly about his Peppa Pig role in various interviews, and in 2022 told Business Insider he had absolutely no intention of stepping away from the microphone any time soon.

“I will keep going until I lose my voice. Why wouldn’t I? It’s such a gorgeous thing to be part of. The scripts are superb. I’m a lucky man”, he said.

He went on to reveal in the same interview: “If someone recognises my voice and asks if I can take a video of me, I tell them no but say I can do a voice recording.

“It’s one of the main reasons I haven’t done many TV interviews as Daddy Pig – I don’t want to destroy the magic for children.”
