A teenager has been charged with murder after a 15-year-old boy died after being stabbed in London.
Brayan David Saldarriaga, from Haringey, died after being found with stab wounds on Monday after a fight spilled out of a house party in in Hackney.
The 16-year-old charged, who cannot be named because of his age, was also charged on Friday with possession of a bladed article. He will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Police were called at 7.17pm on Monday to reports of a large gathering, disorder and sightings of people carrying machetes in Towpath Walk, Hackney.
Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, and found Saldarriaga injured with stab wounds in Poplar Close. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.
His next-of-kin continue to receive support from specialist officers.

“Our thoughts remain with Brayan’s loved ones following this tragic incident. They have asked for privacy as they come to terms with Brayan’s death and we ask that their wishes are respected,” she said shortly after the arrest of the 16-year-old boy.
She continued: “We understand the impact this incident has had on the local community. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to speak with one of our officers on patrol in the area this week.
“We know there were a significant number of people who recorded the large gathering and the incident on their mobile phone.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or who has footage of the incident to come forward to police – your information could be vital.”
