Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is fit to feature in Saturday’s Champions League final against PSG.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Arteta was pushed on whether Timber would be able to start, and he responded with one word: “Yes”.
This is a major boost for the Gunners ahead of the final, with Timber a key performer for the team this season as they ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title.
However, he has not played since March due to struggling with injury, and Arteta now has a big call on whether to throw him straight back into his starting line-up.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Champions League for the first time in their history, and having Timber back in the ranks could give them the best chance of winning in Budapest.
