Nicolas Cage told Variety thatwatching Breaking Bad during the Covid pandemic made him realise television offered the “luxury of time” that films did not.
Cage said that he previously avoided TV appearances because he did not want to do work that felt “homogenised”, but changed his perspective after watching the hit drama.
He now stars as an ageing private investigator and superhero Ben Reilly in Marvel’s series Spider-Noir, reprising a version of the character he previously voiced.
Cage drew inspiration for his performance from classic actors like Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney, he told Variety.
