Arsenal continue to be linked with some huge summer transfers as they prepare for an almighty showdown against Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners will take on the French outfit in the Champions League final on Saturday evening in a bid to get their hands on the trophy for the first time.
Mikel Arteta’s side hoisted the Premier League trophy last weekend as they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park. Fans stormed the streets to celebrate the north London outfit’s first league title in 22 years.
However, Arteta’s focus will now be on taking down Luis Enrique’s side in Budapest in a battle of the French and English champions. The Gunners boss is “fully convinced” his team can complete the double as he said: “We have the opportunity to create new history in our club.
“I am convinced we are going to do it. We need this [celebratory] energy to flow and going against that, I think it will be a big mistake. We talked about already what we have to do in Budapest, how we’re going to use all the incredible energy that we’re all carrying towards that final, and tomorrow we’re going to start to prepare it.

“I said to the boys that this shirt now represents something else. We are the champions, and that brings a lot of confidence and a different kind of presence and energy to it. But as well, another kind of responsibility as well. My job now and everybody at the club is going to be lift those standards now and achieve much more, because I think we are capable of doing it.”
Here, Mirror Football has the latest coming out of the red side of north London.
Marcos Llorente has raised doubts about Julian Alvarez remaining at Atletico Madrid next year. This, in turn, would boost Arsenal’s hopes of landing the former Manchester City striker in a summer swoop.

The 26-year-old has attracted interest from the Gunners, PSG, and Barcelona. Alvarez’s team-mate Llorente told El Partidazo de COPE that he is uncertain on what the Argentina international’s plans are for the future.
The midfielder admitted he doesn’t know what Alvarez will do and “neither does he, as things stand today.” Llorente added: “I don’t ask him. He seems fine to me, but maybe he wants to leave and we don’t know.”
Spanish outlet Cadena SER claims the ex-City forward has expressed a desire to leave Spain, which could encourage Arsenal to make a move. It is understood that a fee of up to £90million could be demanded for the striker, who has scored 49 goals over two seasons for Madrid.

Arsenal are being linked with a move for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, but it will take a fight and a fee to secure his signature. TalkSPORT reported that Arteta is planning to strengthen his interest in the Europa League hero this summer.
It has been said that early talks have already taken place between the two clubs, with Villa demanding at least £80m for Rogers. However, the Gunners look set for a transfer battle as Manchester United are keen too.
