Play was halted in the 36th minute with the score at 0-0 after Rayo goalkeeper Augusto Batalla sat on the pitch.
He then gestured towards supporters in the stands, drawing referee Maurizio Mariani’s attention.
The managers of both sides were informed of the situation, and there was a pause of around four minutes while the supporter received attention.
Adam Summerton said on commentary for TNT Sports: “What we’re hearing is that there has been a medical emergency, sadly, amongst the Rayo Vallecano supporters. Our best wishes to the supporter affected in that stand, we hope everyone involved is OK.”
