Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has stated that Children’s Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to nurture, protect and invest in the younger generation.
The governor who congratulated children across the state and Nigeria on the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, described them as the hope, pride and future of society.
In a statement issued in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor Adeleke noted that children remain the reason government must continue to work tirelessly towards building a better future for society.
The governor described children as “the foundation of tomorrow’s Osun State. Every child deserves access to quality education, healthcare, protection, and equal opportunities regardless of social background”.
According to him, “The dreams, talents, and aspirations of children are critical to the future growth and prosperity of the state.”
He added that every child in public schools, private institutions and government care homes matter equally to his administration.
“Children remain the hope, pride, and future of society,” the governor said.
Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies and programmes aimed at supporting the welfare, growth, and development of children across the state.
He said “ongoing efforts were focused on improving access to quality education, safe learning environments, child welfare services, and better living conditions for young people”.
The governor also called on parents, guardians, teachers, and religious leaders to continue instilling discipline, moral values, respect, and compassion in children, noting that raising responsible children is a collective duty.
Adeleke warned against child abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence, saying any society that fails to protect its children risks endangering its future.
“As we celebrate our children today, I assure every parent and child that our administration will leave no stone unturned in protecting and developing the future of our young ones,” the governor stated.
