Andrea McLean on having to sell her house during career change
Andrea McLean, 56, revealed she lost her home, health, and finances after leaving ITV’s Loose Women in 2020 to focus on her lifestyle brand.
She was forced to sell her engagement rings on Vinted and applied for a job at Starbucks, which she described as humiliating, after losing hundreds of thousands in life savings.
McLean also faced severe health crises, including being diagnosed with pneumonia, acute kidney injury, and sepsis after collapsing at home.
She expressed feeling shame and embarrassment over her business not succeeding after publicly announcing her departure from television.
Currently, McLean states she is still ‘in the trenches’ but in a better place mentally and emotionally, and is releasing a book titled Shameless: Finding Freedom and Resilience Through Failure.
