Blair issues stark warning to Labour over Starmer leadership crisis

Sir Tony Blair has warned that the Labour government is “playing with fire” and risks long-term damage to both the party and the country without a fundamental reset.
He criticised the government for lacking a coherent plan for the country and governing from a “soft left” comfort zone, prioritising politics over policy.
Blair argued that any leadership change would be irrelevant without a prior policy debate, stating that trying to force the Prime Minister out without a clear direction is not serious.
He stated that the UK is currently “too weak” to reset its relationship with the EU and cannot discuss rejoining until it regains economic strength.
Blair also expressed concern that Britain is becoming “marooned on an island of irrelevance” in the new world order due to conflicting political tendencies.
