The Katsina State government has clarified that the former Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Community Development, who was recently linked to a kidnapping syndicate, was suspended before the incident unfolded.
DAILY POST reports that the former SSA was recently accused of masterminding the abduction of an eight-year-old boy in the Katsina metropolis.
Reacting to the matter in a statement, the State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Bala Salisu Zango on Monday, clarified that Garwa was suspended before the allegation.
The statement claimed Garwa was suspended over allegations relating to the diversion of empowerment materials intended for communities in Batsari Local Government Area under the state’s Community Development Programme.
The statement said Governor Radda described the activities of the alleged criminal syndicate as unfortunate, expressing concern that an individual with a public profile and political ambition could be linked to such allegations.
