Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool career has been defined by far more than goals and trophies — it has been a relentless rewriting of the club’s record books.
Since joining Roma in 2017, the Egyptian forward has consistently performed at an elite level, breaking long-standing milestones and setting new standards across both the Premier League and European competitions.
From remarkable goal-scoring feats to assist records and unmatched consistency, Salah’s influence at Anfield extends well beyond highlight moments.
His legacy is built on sustained excellence and historic achievements that firmly place him among Liverpool’s greatest ever players, a report on the EPL website obtained by our correspondent on Monday.
As Mohamed Salah departs Liverpool after nine unforgettable years, we reflect on the records he has broken since his arrival — a career that saw him play a central role in the club’s Premier League triumphs in 2019/20 and 2024/25, and establish himself as one of the finest players in English football history.
Salah’s Premier League records
Fourth-most Premier League goals
Only three players have scored more Premier League goals than Salah (193): Alan Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213) and Wayne Rooney (208).
Most Premier League goals for Liverpool
Of Salah’s 193 goals in the Premier League, 191 have been scored in Liverpool’s colours.
He became Liverpool’s all-time top Premier League goalscorer in memorable fashion, scoring twice in a 7-0 win over Manchester United at Anfield in March 2023 to surpass Robbie Fowler’s record (128).
Salah is one of only four Liverpool players to score 100 or more goals in the competition, along with Fowler, Steven Gerrard (120) and Michael Owen (118).
Most goals and assists of any African player in Premier League history
Salah is both the highest-scoring African player and highest-scoring non-Englishman in the competition’s history.
His former Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane is the next highest-scoring African player with 111 goals, with Didier Drogba following on 104.
He has also provided the most assists of any player from Africa with 94. Drogba is a distant second with 55.
Most Premier League assists for Liverpool
Salah’s assist for Curtis Jones in Liverpool’s match against Brentford means he has now created 93 goals for the club, one more than former captain Steven Gerrard.
Salah has a total of 94 assists in the Premier League, given he also registered one with former club Chelsea in 2013/14. This tally places him joint-sixth in the competition’s history, alongside former Arsenal forward Dennis Bergkamp.
Joint-most Premier League Golden Boots
Salah has won four Premier League Golden Boots, level with Thierry Henry.
He won them in the following seasons: 2017/18 (with 32 goals), 2018/19 (22 goals), 2021/22 (23 goals) and 2024/25 (29 goals).
Most goal involvements for a Premier League club
Salah’s assist for Hugo Ekitike during a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in December took him to 277 direct goal involvements in the Premier League for Liverpool.
That is the most of any player in the competition’s history and took him above Rooney, who supplied 276 for Man Utd.
He now has 284 direct goal involvements for the Reds.
Most goal involvements in a 38-game Premier League season
Salah registered 47 goal involvements (29 goals, 18 assists) in the 2024/25 campaign.
Previously, the most in a 38-game season was 44, shared by Henry (2002/03) and Erling Haaland (2022/23).
Most Premier League goal involvements at the same stadium
Salah has directly contributed towards 155 Premier League goals at Anfield (109 goals, 46 assists).
That is more than Rooney (151 at Old Trafford) and Henry (151 at Highbury).
First player to win Premier League Player of the Season, Golden Boot and Golden Playmaker awards
Salah is the first, and so far only, player to win each of the Premier League’s Player of the Season, Golden Boot and Golden Playmaker awards, even managing to win all three in 2024/25.
Most left-footed goals
The majority of Salah’s 193 goals have been scored with his trusted left-foot, 155 in total.
He has scored more times with his left foot than any other player, with another Liverpool legend Fowler second in charts on 109.
Most opening day goals
Liverpool’s opening day opponents next season can breathe a sigh of relief: Salah has scored more goals (10) in Matchweek 1 than any other player in Premier League history.
Third for Premier League goal involvements
Only Shearer (324) and Rooney (311) have produced more Premier League goal involvements – goals and assists combined – than Salah.
Salah has 287 goal involvements in total, 284 for Liverpool and three for Chelsea.
Salah’s non-Premier League records (selected)
Third-most Liverpool goals (all competitions)
Salah moved into third place in Liverpool’s all-time top scorer charts in March 2025, when he scored twice in a 3-1 win over Southampton.
The Egyptian has scored 257 times for the club. Only Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285) have scored more times for Liverpool.
Fastest UEFA Champions League hat-trick
Timed at six minutes and 12 seconds, Salah scored the fastest Champions League hat-trick in the competition’s history in a 7-1 win against Rangers in October 2022.
Most European appearances for Liverpool
In Liverpool’s first-leg last-16 match against Galatasaray, Salah surpassed the record for most matches played in the UEFA Champions League/European Cup for the Reds.
He made his 81st appearance for the club, moving ahead of former centre-back Jamie Carragher’s tally of 80. Salah is now on 82 games after playing in the return leg against the Turkish side.
First African player to score 50 Champions League goals
The Egyptian became the first African player to reach 50 Champions League goals, reaching the milestone on his 97th appearance in the competition during Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Galatasaray.
Most PFA Players’ Player of the Year
Salah’s sensational 2024/25 season earned him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award for a record-breaking third time, following on from his successes in 2017/18 and 2021/22.
