The Bauchi State Police Command has intensified security arrangements and released emergency contact lines ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

The development was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib.

The statement quoted the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, as extending warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in Bauchi State and across the country on the occasion of  Eid-El-Kabir.

The police boss also appreciated residents for their continued cooperation with the Police and other security agencies in maintaining peace and order across the state.

According to Habib, the Command has deployed adequate personnel across strategic locations to ensure a peaceful celebration.

“In line with the Command’s mandate to ensure a hitch-free celebration, adequate personnel have been deployed to Eid grounds, major highways, recreational centres, and other public places across the 20 Local Government Areas.

“The deployment includes conventional police officers, tactical teams, and traffic personnel working in synergy with sister security agencies and local vigilante groups,” the statement read.

The Command, however, warned against activities capable of disrupting public peace during and after the festivities.

Habib said criminal elements had been advised to steer clear of the state, stressing that the Command would deal decisively with anyone found engaging in acts such as thuggery, reckless driving, use of knockouts or fireworks, and other unlawful activities.

He further urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and wards to prevent involvement in acts that could result in arrest and prosecution.

The Police Command also called on residents to support security efforts by reporting suspicious persons, movements, or objects to the nearest police station or through its emergency lines: 08151849417, 07031961762, and 08050404039.

Aliyu assured residents of the Command’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment before, during, and after the Sallah celebrations, while praying for Allah’s blessings, peace, and protection upon the people of the state.
