  • The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which advocates for independence from Pakistan’s central government, claimed responsibility for the incident, stating they targeted a train carrying security personnel.
  • Quetta is the capital of Balochistan province, an oil- and mineral-rich region with a history of insurgency, and authorities have launched an investigation into the explosion.
