Manchester City have begun talks to sign Chelsea midfielder, Enzo Fernandez for their incoming manager, Enzo Maresca.
According to Sky Germany, the Cityzens have placed Fernandez at the top of their summer shortlist and ‘initial talks have already taken place behind the scenes’.
The report added that Maresca, who is expected to replace Pep Guardiola as manager this summer, ‘is particularly keen’ to sign the Argentina World Cup winner for his new club.
Recall that Maresca will sign an initial three-year deal with City to become their new manager ahead of next season.
The Italian had a strong relationship with Fernandez during their time together at Chelsea.
In March, Fernandez criticised Chelsea over Maresca’s exit from Stamford Bridge.
Fernandez has already raised doubts over his future at Chelsea following the Blues’ Champions League exit two months ago.
The midfielder was handed a two-game suspension for his comments made about a possible move to Madrid during the last international break.
