Brits have revealed their favourite sandwich fillings in a nationwide survey that’s created a fascinating “sandwich map” of the UK which champions everything from traditional cheese and tomato to fashionable banh mi and Korean fried chicken rolls.

While Londoners are opting for the relatively wholesome chicken salad sandwich, Stoke-on-Trent has officially claimed the title of Britain’s Tuna Mayo Capital.

The study discovered that 14 per cent of residents in the Staffordshire city selected tuna mayo as their go-to sandwich – the highest proportion recorded anywhere across the UK for this classic filling.

Bristol, meanwhile, has emerged as the nation’s biggest enthusiasts of pulled pork rolls, with an impressive 44 per cent selecting the meaty choice as their number one.
