Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso, has drawn similarities between João Pedro and former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Pedro is the only senior striker left in the Blues’ squad after Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu and Liam Delap all left this summer.
Alonso has decided to place his bets on the Brazilian because of the qualities he possesses.
“In many things, João Pedro reminds me of Karim Benzema,” Alonso said.

Pedro has been named the Premier League Player of the Month and becomes the first Chelsea player to win the award in almost two years, since Cole Palmer got his second in September 2024.
