Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said the United States, US, now emulates African democracies.
Sani was reacting to the US President, Donald Trump’s promise of $5,000 dividend to Americans if the Republicans win both the House and the Senate in the coming midterm elections.
Trump made the proposal at the Republican Party’s midterm convention.
It is widely believed that with approximately 270 million American adults, the idea would cost around $1.35 trillion.

“If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them, because of our tremendous economic success, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000,” Trump said.
Reacting, Sani posted on X: “Trump is promising every American $5k if his party wins. Africa used to emulate American democracy; America is now emulating African democracy.”
