Abuja woman remanded for allegedly pouring boiling water on neighbour

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly pouring boiling water on her neighbour following a disagreement over the use of a shared compound in the Lugbe area of Abuja.

The incident was disclosed in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on September 4, 2026, after the victim allegedly moved a pot containing boiling water to a section of the compound designated for the suspect.

The police said the suspect allegedly picked up the pot and poured the boiling water on the victim’s back, causing her severe burn injuries.

The command said the victim is currently receiving medical treatment.

The police added that the suspect was arraigned before a court and remanded in custody until September 16, 2026, when the case will continue.
