Cruise brand Celestyal has announced it is introducing a dedicated kids’ club on its ships for the first time.
The brand previously offered activities for children such as colouring or crafts as part of its wider programme and had a room with board games and consoles.
But following a successful trial across its two ships during the summer, a full dedicated programme will be operated on selected sailings across the Mediterranean, Adriatic and the Greek islands during school holiday periods.
The kids’ club programme will be offered aboard Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Discovery for children aged three to 16.
Young passengers will be split into four groups.
This comprises Little Sailors (aged three to five), Junior Explorers (aged six to nine), Young Voyagers (10 and 12) and teenagers (from 13 to 16).
Activities will vary by itinerary, sailing and age group.
Examples include colouring, painting, Lego, puzzles and board games as well as arts and crafts and treasure hunts.
There will also be sports such as football, basketball, tennis, table tennis and dance classes, plus karaoke and mini discos.
The programme will take place at the Kids’ Zone on Deck 12 aboard Celestyal Journey and the Kids’ Club on Deck 10 of Celestyal Discovery, with select activities taking place in other venues and sports areas.
Parents and guardians won’t need to remain with children aged five and above during scheduled sessions. Children aged three and four must be accompanied throughout.

“The response to this summer’s trial showed that younger guests loved having their own programme and making friends on board, while parents valued the flexibility to enjoy some special time together.”
