A senior non-commissioned officer, SNCO, at the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in Abuja has been found dead after allegedly firing at his commanding officer.
The incident happened at about 9:37 am on Monday, September 7, while personnel were on duty at the custodial centre.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the SNCO fired at the commanding officer but missed after the officer moved away.
The SNCO was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and died from the injury.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and an investigation has been launched to establish what led to the shooting,” Makama reported.
The remains of the SNCO were evacuated to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, UATH, for further action.
