South South Govs to engage Tinubu on critical infrastructure deficiencies

The six governors in the South South geopolitical zone of Nigeria have resolved to interface with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on critical regional concerns, particularly on infrastructure and environmental development.

The governors converged in the Cross River State Government House in Calabar on Monday, where they conferred on several sociopolitical, economic and political issues besetting the region.

They maintained that critical infrastructure such as the Calabar, Port Harcourt and Warri seaports as well as regional rail development should be rehabilitated and modernised, identifying the array of economic opportunities offered by the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as strategic priorities.

In a communique, the governors from Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and host, Cross River State, reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
