‘Iru Ekun not a threat to Amotekun’ – Ondo commander

The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network, otherwise known as the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, has declared that Irun Ekun is not a threat to the outfit.

Iru Ekun, a community-based regional security network, was founded by Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

According to Adetunji, Irun Ekun is not a product of law while Amotekun was established through the enactment of the law.  

Adetunji spoke at the Akure headquarters of the Amotekun Corps while parading suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.

With Adetunji emphasizing that Amotekun does not operate on the same pedestal as Irun Ekun, he assured the people of Ondo State that the corps, in collaboration with sister agencies, will always ensure the security of lives and property.
