Rob Reiner win posthumous Emmy award for acting role
- The 2026 Emmys Creative Arts ceremony featured a posthumous win for director and actor Rob Reiner, who was awarded Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy for his role in The Bear, setting a record for the longest gap between acting wins in Emmy history at 48 years.
- Reiner, who was found murdered alongside his wife Michele Singer Reiner at their Los Angeles home in December, received a standing ovation from the audience as actor Wendi McLendon-Covey accepted the trophy on his behalf.

- Veteran actor Ernest Harden Jr, 73, emotionally collected his first-ever Emmy win for Supporting Actor in a Drama for his performance as an alcoholic patient in the medical drama The Pitt.
- Apple TV horror-comedy Widow’s Bay led the early winners with eight trophies, while superhero series Spider-Noir picked up five awards despite being cancelled by Amazon Prime Video last week.
