Adamawa govt suspends education board secretary over alleged irregularities

The Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board, Mr Birsan Penuel, has been suspended.

Penuel’s suspension was attributed to alleged irregularities in the discharge of his duties.

The state government said on Sunday that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri had approved the immediate suspension of the officer to allow for a thorough investigation into the matter.

“In the interim, the most senior director in the board has been directed to take over the affairs of the board and ensure the uninterrupted continuation of its activities,” the government said in a statement.
