EPL: Haaland surpasses Mbappe, Ronaldo’s record after scoring for Man City

Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, on Saturday reached 300 club career goals in fewer appearances than Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe.

The Norway international scored the 300th goal of his club career as Manchester City defeated Coventry City 1-0 to remain at the top of the Premier League table.

His 300 goals have come across spells at Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.

According to ESPN, the 26-year-old reached the milestone after just 384 appearances.

Haaland reached the milestone slightly slower than Argentina legend Lionel Messi, who scored 300 club career goals in 365 appearances, but faster than Mbappe, who reached the mark in 398 appearances, and Ronaldo, who did so in 499 appearances.

Speaking after City defeated Coventry, Haaland said: “I should’ve scored more goals to finish the game off, but I didn’t. So, I made it difficult for the team and managed to keep Coventry in the game until the end.”
