Troops arrest suspected terrorist informant in Borno

Troops have arrested a suspected terrorist informant and collaborator in Ngamdu, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The arrest was carried out by troops of the 154 Task Force Battalion, working with Forest Guards and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

Security sources said the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Bacha Modu Isah, was arrested at about 10:10 pm on September 2, 2026, following credible intelligence.

Items were also recovered from the suspect.

The suspect is being held in military custody while investigations continue.

“Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspect is a native of Gowo Village in Kaga LGA,” the source shared.

“During the operation, troops recovered a charm, lighter, ring and a leather item from the suspect,” it added.

The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to identify and disrupt terrorist informants, collaborators and support networks operating within local communities.
