KCPC seizes 419 cartons of expired pesticides in Kano

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has seized about 419 cartons of expired pesticides from a facility along Club Road in the state.

The seizure followed intelligence received by the council indicating that the expired products had been stockpiled at the location, allegedly for reprocessing and eventual return to the market.

According to a statement issued by the council’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, officials of the KCPC carried out the operation after receiving intelligence about the suspected activities.

The council said the pesticides were found to have exceeded their expiry dates, raising concerns over the potential risks they could pose to consumers if returned to the market.
