The Jigawa State Government has announced that the funeral prayer for the late Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, has been scheduled for 5 pm, today, Friday, September 3, 2026, at the Emir’s Palace in Gumel.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government and issued to journalists.
The late monarch reportedly died on Thursday afternoon in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
According to the Jigawa State Government, the funeral prayer will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.

The government called on members of the public across the state to attend the funeral prayer and pay their last respects to the late Emir. It also urged Imams of Jumu’ah mosques across Jigawa State to offer special prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
