The Yola Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC, has announced significant progress in the reconstruction of a collapsed transmission tower supplying electricity to Hayin Gada, Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Girei and surrounding communities in Adamawa State.
In an update provided by the company’s Communications Officer, Blessing Tunoh, on Friday, YEDC said the reconstruction work had advanced considerably, with the new transmission tower already being assembled and nearing completion.
The company said the development brings affected communities closer to the restoration of electricity supply after the disruption caused by the collapse of the transmission infrastructure.
“Management assures customers that YEDC is committed to restoring power supply to the affected areas immediately after the completion of the reconstruction,” the statement said.
YEDC commended residents of the affected communities for their patience and understanding throughout the period of the repair works.

The electricity distribution company also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities around electricity infrastructure to the appropriate authorities.
The affected areas include Hayin Gada, MAUTECH, Girei and their environs, which have experienced disruption in power supply following the collapse of the transmission tower.
