Award-winning Scottish musician Julie Fowlis is set to bring her talents to the Stirling stage once again as part of an extra-special tour.
The Scottish folk singer and multi-instrumentalist will pass the 25 year mark as a professional musician this year and is celebrating with a series of live performances to be recorded for a new album.
The tour will visit Stirling’s Albert Halls on June 6, with Julie performing alongside a sensational band comprising Éamon Doorley, Tony Byrne and Duncan Chisholm, and host of celebrated guest musicians.
As well as the quarter-century mark on stage, Julie is also looking back on 21 years since the launch of her first album Mar a Tha Mo Chridhe (As My Heart Is).
Deeply influenced by her upbringing in the Hebrides and Highlands, Julie has become one of Scotland’s most celebrated cultural voices. Her special Scottish tour will be shaped by collaboration and connection as she is joined by a handpicked group of special guests.
Spellbinding writer, musician, and storyteller Karine Polwart will join Julie at Albert Halls.
The pair have collaborated extensively over the years including with Grammy Award winning US artist, Mary Chapin Carpenter, on their 2025 album Looking For The Thread, and on the highly acclaimed Spell Songs project, a multi-artist lyrical, musical and artistic response to environmental loss.
Long-time collaborator and friend Mike McGoldrick will also, having played with Julie on multiple records, collaborated with her for TV and radio, welcomed her on their own tours, and been involved in career-defining projects like Transatlantic Sessions.
Julie said: “This tour feels very special indeed. It marks over 25 years of making music, and in that time I’ve somehow never quite managed a full headline tour around Scotland – now’s the time!
“It’s a genuine treat to be joined in Stirling by such special guests.
“These are voices and musicians that I love and respect, who will each bring their individual flair to the stage.
“We’re planning to share songs people know and love, alongside newer material and pieces that have long been part of our live set but that don’t yet exist as recordings. I’ve had so many people ask for a live album, so I’m happy to be finally bringing that to life.
“Live performance has a magic all of its own. It’s about the shared energy in the room and that sense that every night is completely unique.
“We want to capture those fleeting moments, those connections, that feeling of being there, and we hope you will join us at Albert Halls for some of that magic.”
The live album recorded during the tour is expected to be available late 2026.
