The devastated mum of a man stabbed to death in a Paisley flat has blasted his killer’s lawyers over claims there was a miscarriage of justice.
On June 24 last year, Cameron Woods and Stacey Balfour, then aged 27 and 24, were sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow over the slaying of Robert Fisher. The 26-year-old was killed in a brutal knife attack at flats in Maxwellton Street in July 2023.
Woods was convicted of murder while ex-girlfriend Balfour was initially found guilty of culpable homicide. However, trial judge Lady Hood ruled the verdict against Balfour was legally incompetent and sent the jury back out to reconsider its decision before she too was convicted of murder.
