Search for two missing fishermen in English Channel officially ends
- A search for two missing crew members has been suspended after French fishing vessel The Maranello sank in the English Channel off Plymouth.
- Three of the five crew members were safely rescued by a second trawler before the vessel sank on Saturday evening.
- The rescued sailors received hospital treatment in Truro and Plymouth and are currently travelling back to France.
- An intensive search-and-rescue operation was launched involving HM Coastguard, RNLI lifeboats, and French naval aircraft.
- Search efforts were officially suspended on Sunday night pending further information from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
