Nigerian troops confront ISWAP terrorists in face-to-face encounter [VIDEO]

Nigerian Army troops have reportedly confronted suspected Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, and Boko Haram terrorists in an encounter captured on video.

The footage, sighted online by DAILY POST on Saturday, shows troops travelling in a tracked armoured personnel carrier, APC, coming face-to-face with suspected terrorists riding in a Toyota Hilux pickup.

The encounter appeared to have occurred in an area affected by the ongoing insurgency in North-East Nigeria, where security forces have continued operations against ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters.

In the video, the military vehicle is seen holding its position as the Hilux pickup carrying the suspected terrorists approaches.

The location and circumstances surrounding the encounter could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

ISWAP and Boko Haram have remained active in parts of North-East Nigeria, particularly in Borno State and surrounding areas, despite sustained military operations targeting their fighters and hideouts.

The Nigerian military has intensified counter-insurgency operations in the region, with troops conducting ground and aerial operations against terrorist formations.

DAILY POST could not immediately establish whether the encounter resulted in casualties or what happened after the confrontation.
