Shinkafi vows to proceed with campaign despite court case over Zamfara primary

An All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain and Zamfara North senatorial aspirant, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has vowed to proceed with his campaign despite an ongoing court case challenging the primary election.

Shinkafi stated this while addressing journalists on Monday in Gusau, saying his campaign and mobilisation teams would be constituted in line with the official campaign schedule.

He said the pending legal dispute would not stop him from campaigning for the APC and his candidature, expressing confidence that he would prevail in court.

“Nobody can intimidate me. I have every right to campaign for the APC and for my candidature. I am confident that, based on what we have presented before the court, we will win the case,” he said.

Shinkafi also urged the Zamfara State Government to prioritise security, human capital development and the welfare of residents.

He said improved security in Zamfara would have a positive impact on neighbouring states, including Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, Kebbi and Niger.

The APC chieftain advised Governor Dauda Lawal to consider redirecting resources earmarked for new projects towards tackling insecurity and improving the living conditions of residents.

He said addressing insecurity should remain a priority in the state, given its impact on the people and neighbouring communities.
