Nollywood stars, family members, friends, and other mourners gathered in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday to bid farewell to veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Hassan, who died at the age of 66, was buried in his hometown following a funeral ceremony attended by prominent figures in the Nollywood film industry.

The actor’s remains arrived in Ilaro earlier in the day, marking the commencement of his final burial rites.
Among the Nollywood personalities who attended the ceremony were veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Mr Latin and Toyosi Adesanya, amongst others

Quadri, who shared a long-standing relationship with Hassan, was emotional during the burial ceremony as he mourned the loss of his colleague and friend.

PUNCHONLINE reports that one of his protégés, actress Toyosi Adesanya, described him as a man of integrity and an epitome of simplicity, recalling the 10 years she spent training under his tutelage.

Days before his death, his daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, had appealed for urgent medical assistance, revealing that their father was battling advanced cancer.

The family had sought medical intervention and specialists capable of reviewing his condition after doctors reportedly informed them that chemotherapy could no longer be administered due to his condition.
