Liverpool star Curtis Jones leaves boyhood club to join Italian giants

- Curtis Jones has completed a €30m transfer from Liverpool to Inter Milan on a five-year contract, with Liverpool potentially earning a further €5m in achievable add-ons alongside a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
- The 25-year-old midfielder, who was entering the final year of his contract after making 228 appearances for Liverpool, informed head coach Andoni Iraola that he wanted to leave Anfield.
- Andoni Iraola expressed a desire to keep the England international but confirmed he fully understood Jones’s decision to end his 16-year association with his hometown club.
- Liverpool do not plan to sign a midfielder to replace Jones, as Iraola has been thoroughly impressed by 19-year-old Trey Nyoni’s performances and development during pre-season.
- The club is instead prioritizing the signing of wingers, having had bids of £50m and £60m for Yankuba Minteh rejected by Brighton while also maintaining an interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.
