Nollywood stars and filmmakers in the Yoruba industry have come together in heartfelt prayers for veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, amid his ongoing health challenges.
In a video circulating on social media on Friday, several prominent Nollywood personalities were seen praying for the actor and seeking Allah’s mercy, divine intervention, strength and complete recovery.
Among those featured in the prayer session were veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, Yinka Quadri, Rotimi Salami, Mr Latin, Adewale Elesho and Antar Laniyan.
The actors prayed for Allah to intervene in Ogogo’s condition, strengthen him and grant him complete healing and recovery.
The gathering comes amid growing concern over the veteran actor’s health, with his family and colleagues calling for prayers and support.
PUNCH Online had reported that Kosoko appealed to fans, colleagues and well-wishers to continue praying for Ogogo, while explaining why the actor could not be moved to another facility despite offers of spiritual and medical assistance.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Kosoko expressed appreciation for the support and concern shown towards Ogogo by members of the public, colleagues and well-wishers.
He, however, explained that Ogogo’s current medical condition made it impossible to move him from the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
The development followed an emotional appeal by Ogogo’s daughters, who had sought medical assistance for their father amid reports that he was battling stage-four cancer.
The actor’s condition has since prompted an outpouring of support from members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with colleagues urging the public to continue praying for him.
The latest prayer session further highlights the solidarity among Nollywood actors as they rally around the veteran actor during his health battle.
