Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has disclosed that he earns a monthly salary of N503,000.
He made this known in a viral video recorded at a recent event in Asaba, the state capital.
According to the governor, a Permanent Secretary in the state earns N900,000 monthly, while the Head of Service earns N1 million.
His remarks indicate that the monthly salary of a Permanent Secretary is almost twice that of the governor.
“You will also recall that we were one of the first states that implemented the minimum wage.
“Today, a Permanent Secretary’s salary is more than the governor’s. Your salary is N900,000; my salary is N503,000. Head of Service is N1 million,” he said.
DAILY POST reports that Delta State is among the highest recipients of allocations from the Federation Account, including funds under the 13 per cent derivation principle for oil-producing states.
In the first seven months of 2026, the Federal Government, states and local governments shared about N16 trillion from the Federation Account.
